“EARTH Hiroshima,” a Hiroshima-based Peace brand operated by Soara Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President and CEO: Chizuru Gorai), will launch the “Orizuru Font Keychain” and “Orizuru Font Sticker” on Saturday, August 1, 2026, to commemorate the brand’s 10th anniversary this December.

To mark the launch, sales events for the new products and other EARTH Hiroshima items will be held at ekie’s “Shima Shoten” from Saturday, August 1, 2026, through Thursday, August 6, 2026, and at “ORIZURU TOWER HIROSHIMA IPPIN Main Store” from Thursday, August 6, through Sunday, August 9, 2026.

The Orizuru Font has received numerous requests from both individuals and companies asking to use it, thanks to its unique design expressing Hiroshima and peace, along with its cute, colorful, and pop-art aesthetic. Until now, our product lineup had been limited to items featuring only a few letters, but to make it easier for everyone to enjoy their favorite letter, all 26 letters from A to Z are now available as keychains and stickers.

Stickers can be applied to smartphones, suitcases, and more, while keychains can be attached to bags or keys. These products are perfect as souvenirs from travels or as a fun accent to everyday life.

The “Orizuru Font Acrylic Keychain” is manufactured by HIRAOKA INDUSTRY Co., Ltd. The company is a manufacturer of molds and precision parts that has been in business in Hiroshima for nearly 90 years.

However, in addition to the changing environment surrounding the mold industry, the regional manufacturing community also faces the challenge that its daily ingenuity, technical expertise, and the efforts accumulated on the factory floor are often invisible to the general public, leading the industry to be perceived solely as a group of subcontractors.

To change this situation and help more people understand the reality of manufacturing and the value of the industry, the company is committed to going beyond its core strengths to take on the challenge of developing a wide range of products and contributing to Hiroshima’s manufacturing industry.

 

Making the Orizuru, a Symbol of Peace, into a Local Font for Hiroshima

The “Orizuru Font” is an original font created by EARTH Hiroshima that represents the alphabet using the orizuru, a symbol of peace, as its motif. Inspired by the shape of origami cranes and the colors of origami paper, each letter from A to Z has been designed with its own unique character.

In addition to being featured on a variety of EARTH Hiroshima products, such as fountain pens, tote bags, and mugs, it has also been included as one of the region’s distinctive fonts in Mitsumura Tosho Publishing’s middle school calligraphy textbook, Chūgaku Shosha: Ichi・Ni・San-Nen.

 

 

<Orizuru Font Designer> Masahiro Nohjima

Based in Hiroshima, he has worked extensively on branding, advertising planning, and package design for companies, local communities, and government organizations. He continues to play a leading role in community-based design in the region.

He was also involved in the establishment and management of the Hiroshima Art Directors Club (“H”ADC), helping to drive Hiroshima’s design scene forward. He has received numerous awards, including the Gold Award in the Planning and Production category of the Hiroshima Advertising Association Awards and the Grand Prize at the Chugoku Shimbun Advertising Awards.

Launched in December 2016 with four participating companies and 21 items, the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026. Today, 24 manufacturing companies and 22 creators are involved, and the product lineup has expanded to 80 items.

Over the past 10 years, we have developed products that harness Hiroshima’s manufacturing expertise and creative talent, sharing the appeal of products born in the City of Peace, Hiroshima, with audiences across Japan and around the world.
