Clase Azul × EARTH Hiroshima | We have created a special fan for “Tsuru no Mai (Dance of the Crane)”, available exclusively in Japan
On September 2nd, 2026, We attended a launch party for “Clase Azul,” a luxury tequila brand from Mexico, held at Happo-en in Tokyo.

What was unveiled at this party was Clase Azul’s first Japan-exclusive collection, “The Dance of Cultures Tsuru no Mai (Dance of the Crane).”

This special collection themed around the crane, a bird long cherished in Japan as a symbol of peace, longevity, and good fortune, blends traditional Mexican craftsmanship with Japanese aesthetics.
A Connection Born from a Passion for Craftsmanship and the “Crane”
This partnership began when a representative from Clase Azul, who was exploring possibilities for initiatives and collaborations featuring “cranes” as a theme, came across the EARTH Hiroshima website.
They reached out to us because they took interest in our efforts to recycle Orizuru (paper cranes) sent to Hiroshima from around the world and transform them into new products, as well as our development of products featuring the Orizuru motif that leverage the creative talents of designers and the technical expertise of Hiroshima’s manufacturing industry.
Each of Clase Azul’s decanters is handcrafted and hand-painted by artisans in Mexico.
We both value items created by human hands and strive to deliver them alongside the culture, stories, and sentiments of their creators. This shared approach and values toward craftsmanship led us to form this collaboration.
“Re:ORIZURU FANO,” a Specially Crafted Fan Made from Recycled Orizuru Paper

To commemorate the launch of this Japan-exclusive collection, EARTH Hiroshima has created a special fan, the “Re:ORIZURU FANO,” in collaboration with Clase Azul.
The design for this special fan was created by designer Mai Ueno. Staying true to the worldview of “The Dance of Cultures Tsuru no Mai,” she crafted a special design that reflects a wish for peace and Japanese aesthetic beauty.
The fan’s surface is made from “Orizuru recycled paper,” created from the Orizuru donated from around the world to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
Each year, approximately 10 million Orizuru filled with wishes for peace are donated to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park from all over the world.
We aim to preserve the sentiments embedded in the Orizuru, transform them into something new, and share them with the world once again.
These custom-made fan captures both the wish for peace that EARTH Hiroshima has always cherished, and the spirit of cross-cultural encounters and harmony expressed by “The Dance of Cultures Tsuru no Mai.”

Kabuki actor Shido Nakamura also appeared as a guest at the launch party.
Shido Nakamura continues to uphold tradition while constantly taking on new creative challenges. His approach resonates with the worldview of “The Dance of Cultures Tsuru no Mai,” which blends Mexican tradition with Japanese aesthetics to create something new.
He also contributed to the audio tasting notes, which are available exclusively to purchasers of this product.
Sending Wishes for Peace to the World, from Hiroshima
Seeing the custom-made fan introduced alongside the “Tsuru no Mai” at the venue, we were truly thrilled that something made in Hiroshima could be shared with so many people.
Mexico and Japan, Tokyo and Hiroshima. This collaboration came to life through the shared passion for culture and craftsmanship, even across great distances.
We are grateful for this connection, and we hope that the wishes for peace poured into the Orizuru will reach many people through the custom-made fan.
