■ “Ribbed Knit” for Breathability and Comfort While Walking
Pearstar Co. Ltd.’s unique “ribbed knit” structure is used from the toes to the entire sole.
This patented method eliminates seams at the toes, providing a soft, comfortable fit.
Additionally, the air pockets created by the textured surface maintain high breathability while retaining a comfortable warmth, alleviating the discomfort and stuffiness that can bother your feet.

Company Profile

Corporation Pearlstar Co., Ltd. was founded in 1915 on Etajima island, Hiroshima Prefecture. Before World War II, the company supplied products as a designated supervised factory for the Army and Navy, cultivating its sock-making expertise over many years.

In 1983, following the acquisition of a patent for double-layered socks, the company began manufacturing socks and support garments in the health apparel field. In 2004, it established its ribbed knitting technology, which achieves sustained heat retention. Since then, the company has expanded into the medical and nursing care fields through product development in collaboration with industry, academia, and government.

This expertise and experience have also been applied to the creation of the “Orizuru PEACE Socks.” We hope that as you wear them in your daily life, you will also feel connected to the craftsmanship and charm of Hiroshima.

I still vividly remember the experience when, while visiting other countries, I folded an Orizuru and people were delighted, commenting, “Hiroshima, the City of Peace.”

Orizuru connects wishes for peace across regions and national borders.
I have incorporated this motif into the design of these socks, with the hope that people will walk through each day, step by step, carrying these wishes with them.

The color scheme features red and white, which symbolize joy and celebration in Japan. It expresses wishes for peace and happiness through beautiful, striking colors.
