Sock-making techniques passed down for over 100 years
Corporation Pearl Star Co., Ltd. was founded in 1915 (4th year of the Taisho era) in Etajima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Before World War II, the company supplied products as a designated supervised factory for the Army and Navy, and has cultivated its sock-making expertise over many years.
In 1983 (58th year of the Showa era), following the acquisition of a patent for double-layered socks, the company began manufacturing socks and support garments in the medical field.
In 2004 (16th year of the Heisei era), the company established its ribbed knitting technology, which achieves sustained heat retention. Since then, through product development involving collaboration among industry, academia, and government, the company has also entered the medical and healthcare fields.
At the manufacturing site, the entire process, from winding the yarn to knitting, sewing, washing, finishing, inspection, and shipping, is carried out in-house.
By leveraging a manufacturing approach that combines “machine power and human skill,” the company creates one-of-a-kind products.
