On November 25th (Sat.) and 26th (Sun.), EARTH Hiroshima participated in the “Hiroshima Department” event, a gathering of carefully selected specialty items showcasing the charm of Hiroshima.

This event took place at the JR Hiroshima Station Shinkansen entrance on the first floor event space.

It was a grand gathering of Hiroshima-born excellence, featuring denim goods, facial wash bottles, smoked oysters, okonomiyaki, Hiroshima tea sweets and cakes, wine, and more… A wide range of products from daily goods to food items were on display.

At EARTH Hiroshima’s booth, we showcased a selection of goods created through the collaboration between Hiroshima’s manufacturing industry and creators, all embodying our wishes for peace.

 

Centering around the symbol of peace, the “origami crane,” we presented Orizuru (Paper Crane) Charm accessories made from the offcuts of automobile parts and the Re:ORIZURU series made from recycled paper of cranes sent to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. We also brought along the Re:ORIZURU FANO, our award-winning product from this year’s Hiroshima Good Design Award.

Additionally, we had on offer popular items perfect for the dry season, including hand cream and face masks containing Hiroshima sake lees extract!

Given its location at Hiroshima Station, not only locals but also many travelers from outside the prefecture and abroad visited. Especially, the origami crane-themed charms were a hit among international visitors!

We also met people who had visited the recent Hiroshima Good Design Award exhibition and sale, including a visitor who purchased the origami crane recycled paper postcards, a bus guide who liked and bought the Tsuru Tsuru hand cream, and a lovely family who showed us the origami crane charm keyholder attached to their backpack.

We are filled with gratitude towards everyone who stopped by the EARTH Hiroshima booth.
