We held an EARTH Hiroshima new products release & ORIZURU TOWER event on August 6th (Tue.)!
Hello! We’re EARTH Hiroshima.
On August 6th, we held a new products release & workshop event at “Souvenir Select” at ORIZURU TOWER 1F!
Newly released products from August 6th, “Notebook, recycled from orizuru, gold wing/silver wing”
Peace Memorial Park receives about 10 million donated paper cranes (about 10-tons) every year from all over the world, as well as Japan. “Recycled orizuru paper” was born to express the prayers and thoughts enclosed in these paper cranes.
This notebook, from the cover to the inner pages, is made of 100% recycled orizuru paper.
The gorgeous cover, with gold/silver leaf stamping, was designed by Tsushima Design, which actively works internationally.
The cover design has a meaning of “gathering various thoughts” with Hiroshima-themed motifs including maple leaves and family crests to deliver the image of a flying dove, the symbol of peace, to the future.
We held a workshop where people wrote their wishes for peace in this “Notebook, recycled from orizuru.”
Many people, including a visiting family from the Kansai region, as well as visitors from Mexico and Paris, stopped by our workshop.
Wishes for peace and illustrations of the A-bomb dome and orizuru were added, and finally a wonderful notebook was completed!
We’ll donate this notebook to Peace Memorial Park later.
We also set up a corner to decorate a recycled orizuru paper notebook for people who purchase the notebook.
Using the EARTH Hiroshima original “orizuru font” stamps, they freely made their own original notebooks, either to use themselves or as a gift.
Thank you for participating in the workshop!
